Is Biden right or wrong to not supply weapons Israel needs to attack Rafah?
Today’s focus subject is on the American refusal to deliver weapons that Israel wants to use to invade Rafah. President Biden said yesterday that he would not supply offensive weapons that Israel could use to launch an all-out assault on Rafah – the last major Hamas stronghold in Gaza – over concern for the well-being of the more than 1 million civilians sheltering there.
The Israeli military says that it seized the Rafah crossing after receiving intelligence it was “being used for terrorist purposes.” This includes Hamas infrastructure in the area, which is alleged to contain three operational underground shafts that ferry terrorists and weapons back and forth between Egypt and Gaza. This is why Israel seized the Palestinian side of the “Rafah Crossing.”
